Pros and cons of American Heritage Dictionary, 5th Edition app for iPhone and iPad

American Heritage Dictionary, 5th Edition app good for

This is the best dictionary in the app store. Newest words and terms, great definitions and regularly updated, this dictionary has it all. The user interface is a charm and the way that Enfour (the developers) programmed this app is just superb. The customer service and support from them is second to none. Highly recommend!
Purchased months ago, app had issue for a long time as it would not work in landscape; new version came in as new app instead of an in-app update; downloaded, installed it, initially experienced issue then emailed support and received help promptly, solving problem. Excellent app and excellent support.
The American Heritage Dictionary is hands down the best general-purpose dictionary of American English I know, and I adore the app, which contains the entire text of the printed dictionary. However, the app isnt compatible with iOS 9; that isnt made clear in the App Store listing, but its admitted on the website, ahdictionary.com. If Id known that, Id have waited to upgrade!
After ios 8 i cannot conduct any word search. It just crashes. Pls fix it
At first, everything that could go wrong did go wrong with the update, but Tracey at Enfour saved the day. Anyway, 4 stars for the quality of this incredible dictionary; minus 1 for the anguish.
Very useful dictionary but with iOS 9 it doesnt work anymore. Please fix it!

Some bad moments

InstaCrash. 5 star app just turned completely useless. Does Apple not share critical changes prior to new releases being issued or does the publisher not read them and react in time?
This version will not download - ended up paying twice for edition 5 - still have not got it! Frustrating and totally unsatisfactory - iTunes needs to take this app app off the site. OK - finally got it - but process is VERY slow and appeared to come to a stop several times. My
After a long, long wait, this dictionary has finally received an update. It is disappointing, however. Although the content is great, and it is an excellent dictionary, the app itself still looks very dated even after its redesign. This app sorely needs a redesign that brings it up to date with the modern iOS 7/8 design and it still needs support the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus display sizes. Hopefully this happens some day but given the historical pace of updates for this app, I wont be holding my breath.
Please, update it for IOS 9. After upadting to IOS 9 this app doesnt work anymore and always crashes. Please, please, please update and fix it.
Waiting for iOS 9 adaptable version, the current version doesnt work with new iOS9.
Crashes as soon as it opens in iOS9 (tested today on iPad Air 2 with the latest iOS 9 update). But no money lost today -- as I could not even get to the point where I do the "In-App" purchase. I used their older version when I was an iPhone user. I really liked the product I initially bought, and the content was great and presentation was just right. I had that version paired with their "Rogets Thesaurus" product, which gave me the option to jump to the thesaurus from AHD. (I am not sure if AHD5 continues to retain this thesaurus link feature.) I hope these guys will hire someone who knows how to program (and when to stop programming), and release a stable product. Even with their old product that I used, the instability gradually got worse as they made more and more tweaks. If any of their guys are reading it here is some "Free" advice: Stick to minimal features, and minimal iOS/Device capabilities. Simply lookup a word and display the god damn meaning!! How hard is it to get that right??
